What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a holistic healing practice. It is a gentle, non-invasive, technique that helps release energy blockages, balances the body’s energy centres, and support the body's natural ability to heal. Many clients report experiencing emotional release after sessions.
The energy body is where many physical and emotional imbalances begin.
While promoting peace, harmony, and healthy balance, it was originally intended to foster spiritual growth. Reiki can help individuals strengthen their connection to the universe and themselves.
Reiki was developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui, who is said to have undergone a profound spiritual awakening during a meditation retreat on Mount Kurama in Japan. His insights into energy flow, healing, and spiritual principles became the foundation of Reiki.
Usui established a structured healing system along with guiding spiritual principles, which continue to be taught and practised worldwide. While Reiki is one of the most well-known energy healing methods, the concept of working with energy for health and balance has been a part of various cultures for thousands of years.
How does it work?
Like acupuncture and other energy practices, Reiki emphasizes the role of energy as a key factor in maintaining health. Reiki works with the concept of a universal life force energy, a fundamental essence flowing through all living beings and the cosmos. By directing this energy through the practitioner’s hands Reiki practitioners encourage the body’s natural ability to heal, promoting relaxation and restoration. The practitioner may work either on or off the body using this energy.
What is Medical Qigong Healing?
Medical Qigong is a form of energy therapy that integrates the diagnostic and energy-balancing principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the intuitive healing abilities of a Medical Qigong Therapist. This non-invasive practice enhances the body's immune function, reduces stress, and supports the natural healing process.
How Does It Work?
Medical Qigong operates on the same principles as acupuncture, focusing on balancing Qi (life force energy) to promote overall health and healing. Practitioners assess and restore the body's energy flow, clear blockages, and balance the body's elemental forces, including Yin and Yang.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, energy flows through channels called meridians. When this flow is disrupted or imbalanced, it can lead to physical or emotional issues. Medical Qigong helps restore harmony within the body—like in acupuncture, but without the use of needles.
With training, understanding and skill in a variety of energy healing methods, Luiza offers integrated energy work to support across all levels—physical, mental, emotional and spiritual using Reiki & Medical Qi Gong.

Energy therapies like Reiki and Medical Qi Gong Healing are beneficial for everyone.
In my experience, individuals with heightened sensitivity, particularly those with energetic and psychic sensitivity, tend to feel the most during these treatments. However, I believe that the positive effects are activated in everyone, even if they do not consciously feel sensitive to energy.
Energy therapies allow the body to heal in a calm and restorative state rather than under the strain of stress. It is particularly effective for alleviating anxiety, and even resolving traumas that extend beyond the present moment. Therefore, energy therapy can be effective for working on difficult-to-place emotional or energetic issues.
I have noticed those who often greatly benefit from energy therapy include individuals whose health is affected by hypersensitivity, such as (but not limited to) Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs), Empaths, individuals with ADHD, and those on the autism spectrum and individuals who have experienced trauma.
I have noticed that there are many interesting overlaps I have learnt about in individuals with trauma and energy sensitives (this can overlap with ADHD & sensory overload in my experience), these individuals are often overwhelmed & this greatly affects the subtle body. For instance, children who experience trauma early in life often have high levels of intuition, as these individuals need to learn how to sense their environments. But it’s often too much and by default of their openness, they tend to be more absorbent. I work closely with these individuals helping them release what is not theirs and building up their auras.
I believe it is important to recognize that energy therapy is not a replacement for allopathic medicine when allopathic medicine is necessary; it works well as a complementary approach in many cases.

I am grateful to be part of an unbroken Reiki lineage that directly traces back to the founder of the Usui Reiki system, Dr. Mikao Usui (1922). I am the 11th step in this lineage, meaning the teachings and attunements I have received have been passed down through 10 generations of Reiki Masters directly connected to him.

Yes, I trained in foundational Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in London.
I do not use acupuncture in my practice, but this education deepened my understanding of acupuncture and its principles, which I incorporate into my work.
I also qualified as a mental health practitioner within the NHS, the National Health Service in the UK, I am not however practising in that role here. -
Yes! They absolutely are. Remote energy sessions are just as effective as in-person ones, as energy transcends physical boundaries and works beyond time and space.
I personally work primarily by zoom and skype, I prefer this, as it means we're connecting completely energetically and intuitively.

How do healings take place?
Luiza offers sessions both in-person and remotely.
Remote sessions are arranged during a time and place you can be in a quiet, peaceful place.
In-person sessions are available in Pisac, Peru.
What will I feel during the session?
Clients report experiencing relaxation, warmth, coolness, peace, greater mental clarity and enhanced spiritual connection. Some people feel movement in the energetic-somatic body, some people sense things happening intuitively, and some people may have visions (clairvoyants), see faces or have memories or old emotions resurface. Others may simply feel relaxed. Some clients may feel tired or fall asleep.
What will happen after?
Experiences after can be varied, while many people experience elevated energy and relaxation, you may experience the release of toxins, which can lead to unusual sensations, weird dreams, and the surfacing of stagnant or blocked emotions. This is part of the healing process. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
What’s a healing crisis?
Some individuals might go through a “healing crisis,” where symptoms temporarily worsen before improvement occurs. This can include physical discomfort or emotional fluctuations. This is usually a release of what is leaving your system, be as gentle as possible and try and give yourself space and time to let go of old energies. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
After a healing session
To support your recovery, it's important to drink plenty of water and relax after your session. Getting out into nature is a great thing to do after a treatment to help integrate the healing. Also, staying hydrated helps flush out toxins and enhances the overall benefits of your treatment. Personally, I find avoiding spending to much time on technology or in high-sensory environments is very beneficial after energy work. Some people will have increased tiredness after sessions and may find themselves sleeping longer after a session.

“The truth is that our bodies are not separate from our emotions and experiences; they are deeply intertwined,” - Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score.
Most mainstream understanding is beginning to recognize that stress, trauma, and unresolved emotions don’t just affect us mentally—they often manifest somatically in our bodies as pain, illness, or chronic health conditions. This is because there’s a strong link between the subtle body and the physical body. While modern psychology is starting to uncover these connections, shamanic traditions, energy workers and sensitives, healers and mystics have worked within and with these energetic fields for centuries, and go much further and deeper. By looking beyond the material world of the seen, they could recognize the different layers of energy - etheric, emotional, mental, astral and causal —that also make up our universe, influence our world, and manifest as physical and somatic experiences in our bodies. Many problems start in the most subtle levels of our being.
Since emotions and thoughts are forms of energy, unexpressed or unresolved feelings can stagnate and block the body’s natural energy flow. Trauma and even inherited cellular memories can also disrupt the flow of life force energy through the body’s energetic pathways, or meridians. As Dr. Gabor Maté puts it, “When we experience trauma, it doesn’t just reside in our minds; it lodges itself in the body, leading to various forms of illness.” When emotions are ignored or buried, that stuck energy disrupts the body’s natural flow. Whether it’s personal or inherited, trauma can block the life force energy we need to stay balanced and in vitality.
Dr. Rachel Yehuda, a leading researcher in trauma and epigenetics, says:
"The biological residue of trauma can be transmitted from one generation to the next, affecting how genes are expressed without altering the DNA sequence itself."
Epigenetics explores how environmental factors influence gene expression, revealing that trauma can leave biochemical marks on genes passed down to children. Research on Holocaust survivors shows altered stress hormone regulation in their children, suggesting that experiences can shape biological responses across generations, emphasizing the complex relationship between trauma and inheritance.
“Many people suffer from ailments that are not a result of their current life experiences but are instead echoes from the past.” - Dr. Brian Weiss, a psychiatrist and author.
Many mystics and spiritual practitioners also believe that unresolved issues from past lives and ancestral issues can manifest as physical and emotional challenges in the present.
Healing methods like Reiki and other energy-based practices work to restore balance and unblock energy flow, as well as working on the spiritual body, working at to the most subtle layers of our being, often leading to profound results. When combined with lifestyle changes and in some cases, practices like talking therapy, these holistic approaches can create lasting and sustainable healing.

My own journey into Reiki & Shamanism
I’ve always worked within healing modalities and found myself drawn towards environments where people need healing. After exhausting the medical system for my own chronic health conditions, I turned to shamanism and energy therapy, there, I learnt that our bodies, and we, have an amazing capacity to re-balance, remove blockages and heal in ways I did not believe were possible. I now trust and have felt the power of the deep knowing of our bodies and in the power of energetic therapies.
I have also always been incredibly sensitive and attuned to the world of the subtle, this is now where I like to work in healing.
My understandings are rooted through the lens of Taoist philosophy. I have studied acupuncture and work from the fundamental principles of balancing Qi and moving stagnation as a basis for health.
